Observer Corps Report - 1/15/2019 Dakota County Physical Development Committee Meeting


Observer Corps reports are submitted by LWV Dakota County members that volunteer their time to observe and take notes at government meetings of interest to Dakota County residents. While we strive for accuracy, these observations may be incomplete or inaccurate in some respects.

Meeting Agenda and Materials Meeting Minutes

Additional Meeting Materials Meeting Summary: Meeting didn't begin until about 10:15 due to the preceding Community Services Committee meeting. Item 6.1 on the agenda explored the need for a feasibility study for the reintroduction of bison to Lebanon Hills Regional Park. This is a different and unique project as stated by Commissioner Workman.

Item 6.2 related to the 2040 Transportation Plan Update. Transportation trends, congestion mitigation, and arterial studies were presented. Infrastructure challenges and funding needs were addressed. Future public engagement and the Cliff Road study community engagement calendar was presented.

The Thompson County Park Master Plan was also discussed. It has not been updated since 2005. Discussion related to interpretative needs, operations analysis, and natural resources and management plan items, which were addressed by park staff.
