Observer Corps Report - 6/11/2019 Dakota County Community Services Committee Meeting

Updated: Jul 2, 2019

Observer Corps reports are submitted by LWV Dakota County members that volunteer their time to observe and take notes at government meetings of interest to Dakota County residents. While we strive for accuracy, these observations may be incomplete or inaccurate in some respects.

Agenda

Minutes (not available yet) Meeting Summary: A total of 21 new employees were introduced. Labor and workforce challenges were discussed. Proactive planning for the efficiency of county workforce centers, county job fairs, and the need for stable housing were emphasized during a social services presentation. Data analysis, long-term planning, and allocation of resources for the Birth-to-8 Collaborative Initiative were discussed. The Open Door Pantry will have coolers for food distribution at the Northern Service Center on July 22, August 29, and September 30, 2019. This was considered a wise option and will be evaluated after the summer months draw to an end.
