LWV Dakota County hosted a forum titled The State of Health Care: Successes and Challenges, Possible Changes on the Federal Level, Health Care Legislation in Minnesota. The event was held June 1, 2017 at Nativity Episcopal Church in Burnsville.
Presenters included Sen. John Marty, author of the Minnesota Health Plan, Andy Slavitt, former Acting Administrator for CMS/Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP, Scott Keefer, V.P. of Public Affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dr. Cindy Firkins Smith, past President of the Minnesota Medical Association and the Minnesota Dermatological Society, Dr. Dimitri Drekonja, Infectious Disease Staff Physician at Minneapolis VA Medical Center, and moderator Mike McIntee, documentary film-maker, journalist, and AM950 radio host.
