The League of Women Voters of Dakota County is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences policy through education and advocacy. We meet monthly and also host candidate forums, issue forums, and other events of interest to the community. Please attend one of our meetings or contact us for more information!

Dakota County will accept comments regarding its draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan until October 1. Copies of the draft are available at the information desk of each Dakota County Library, except Galaxie Library due to its renovation. A variety of documents, presentations, and maps regarding the draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan are available here. However, note that this information appears to have not been updated for several months. A summary of public input solicited thus far is available here. Also, general information about the comprehensive plan process and the 2030 Comprehensive Plan are available here.

There are several ways to share comments. You can send your input to planning@co.dakota.mn.us, you can fill out and submit this survey, or you can speak with County representatives at one of three public events:

The main topic at our July 10 meeting was an open forum for members to give feedback, contribute ideas, ask questions, and generally help steer the future of LWV Dakota County. Members were also provided with a recap of our activities throughout the past fiscal year (April 2017 through March 2018).
