At our January 2020 meeting we heard from Dakota County Board Chair Mike Slavik (District 1) regarding a recent proposal to extract large quantities of groundwater from Dakota County for commercial resale in other states. Commissioner Slavik discussed a range of issues regarding Dakota County groundwater and discussed potential approaches to addressing similar proposals in the future. We also discussed our recent survey of members and our local league application project. The slides from the meeting are available here and the video is available below.
